Not a discount, not a trial, not a funnel — the same custom, hand-built website our paying clients get, given to one business or nonprofit that deserves a shot. The winner covers only the real costs: hosting and a domain, about $14 a month, published right here so there's never a catch to find.
Untamed is a small Fresno studio — one person, built client by client, in the same Valley as the businesses we serve. We know exactly what it feels like to do great work that nobody can find online, and to look at agency prices knowing they weren't written for businesses like ours.
So once a quarter, we set the invoice aside. One business with a real story gets the full build — design, copy, SEO foundations, launch — for free. It's the most direct way we know to give back to the community that built us.
Transparency is the whole brand here — so here's the entire arrangement, no fine print anywhere else:
Great question — we literally warn people about "free website" offers in our own cost guide, because the usual version hides its price in marked-up mandatory hosting and lock-in contracts. So we built this program to be the opposite on every point:
One winner a quarter — it's a give-back, not a sales funnel. Every cost is published above — $150/yr hosting at our standard rate and a ~$15 domain in your own name. No contracts, ever. And you own everything from day one — cancel hosting next year and take the whole site with our blessing. If any "free website" offer you see elsewhere can't say all four of those things, run.
There's no perfect applicant — the story is what we read for. But these are the boxes that matter:
No essays required. Tell us who you are, what you do, and why this quarter should be yours. Honest beats polished.
A human — the same one who'll build the site — reads them all at the end of each quarter (March, June, September, December).
Within two weeks of the quarter closing. Didn't win? You'll still hear back from a human, and you're welcome to apply again.
Your photos, your voice, your goals. Design, copy, SEO foundations, launch — usually live in about two weeks.
Before, after, and the business behind it — shared with your blessing as that quarter's case study. Then we do it all again.
Five minutes, no essay, no wrong answers. The story is what we read for — write it like you'd say it.
The build — the part we normally charge for — is completely free, and it's the same caliber as our paid work. The winner covers only real costs: $150/yr Care & Hosting (our standard price, zero markup) and their ~$15/yr domain, registered in their own name. About $14 a month, total, forever. No contracts, no fine print beyond this page.
Our own cost guide flags those because they hide the price in marked-up mandatory hosting and lock-ins. This is the opposite by design: one winner a quarter (a give-back, not a funnel), every cost published, standard hosting rates, no contracts, and full ownership from day one. Any "free" offer that can't say all four? Run.
Any real small business or nonprofit without a working website — starting out, rebuilding, or serving the community on a shoestring. Fresno and the Central Valley get priority, but anyone may apply. Idea-stage ventures aren't eligible yet — come back when you're operating.
Stated honestly: a good story and a good feeling. Winners let us document and share the build as a case study — that's the whole trade. No required reviews, no promotion obligations, no strings past this sentence.
You'll hear back from a human either way — every application gets read. Our free guides are yours regardless, you're welcome to apply again next quarter, and if you ever want a site sooner, starter builds begin at $500 flat. But applying puts you in no sales pipeline — promise.
Applications close the last day of March, June, September, and December. The winner hears from us within two weeks after, and the build usually launches about two weeks after that.
The barber who cuts hair for free on Sundays. The taqueria rebuilding after the fire. The rescue running on donations and duct tape. Send them this page — the best applications usually arrive because somebody believed in somebody.
